True Nutrition, a US-based nutritional supplements company, is recalling Whey Protein Isolate, Whey Protein Concentrate and Hydrolyzed Whey Protein, as the label does not indicate milk as the source of whey, according to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The products being recalled include Whey Protein Concentrate (1lb); Whey Protein Isolate Cold-Filtration (1lb); and Whey Protein Isolate MicroFiltrated (1lb) with batch/lot codes 0120712, 0030812, 0040812, and expiry dates May 2015, July 2015 respectively.
Other products being recalled include Whey Protein Isolate Cross-Flow Microfiltration (1lb) and Hydrolyzed Whey Protein High Grade (1lb) with batch/lot codes 0730712, 0680512 and expiry dates May 2015, July 2015 respectively.
The company distributed the above whey protein products from 2 May 2012 without declaring that whey is derived from milk due to a labeling mistake.
True Nutrition advised consumers intolerant to milk and milk derivatives not to consume these recalled products.
