Stuhr Is a Leading Expert in Production of Woven Tapes and Labels

Forgery proof and protection against copies, product traceability, controlled supply chains and unreasonable claims: product security derives an increasingly demand in the globalized economy.

Stuhr is a leading expert in production of woven tapes and labels for the European textile market and provides innovative solutions:

In co-orporation with Tailorlux, a specialist for inorganic luminescent pigments, woven tapes and labels with a unique fingerprint were developed. During the waving process Tailorluxs´ security pigments are integrated directly into the fibers, so that they are inseparably combined and permanently fixed to the fibers. Alternatively the security pigment can be applied by a printing process onto the surface.

Every customer receives his own security pigment, therefore a selection of more than 300 billion combinations, every with an individual code / spectrum is produced at Tailorlux. Textiles with integrated security pigments carrying a characteristic fingerprint. Every textile and every product, which is fabricated of the same, is unambiguously traceable.

The identification of integrated security pigments is carried out by optical spectroscopy, a generally excepted analytical method. The pigment verification of the final product can be performed non-destructive or destructive (e.g. from product ashes) or for a quick check via a mobile hand held device from Tailorlux.

The textile industry, with its high requirements on product security and demand to reveal 100% faked products are one target group for anti-counterfeit protection. Due to the invisible marking consumers of woven tapes and labels do not recognize any difference in appearance of the product. Beside that the integration of security pigments has no influence on the manufacturing quality with durable pigment integration.

Further application is possible – every time when products should be invisibly and uniquely labeled luminescent pigments can be integrated. For safety related products like fire protection textiles this development is meaningful due to the fact that these safety pigments are traceable after fire from ashes. As well given supply chains can be controlled invisibly.

Not only brands are threatened by product piracy. Individual and customized woven tapes and labels can be produced by Gebr. Stuhr GmbH. Every product receives its individual modification whereby customers are able to protect their value and image.
