On day three of the Mission (3rd February), UKT&I Adviser from Mumbai, Mr. Vijay S Jasuja visited the Plastindia show and met with a number of British exhibitors and the UK visitors to Plastindia to introduce the UKT&I support and services to them. During the Plastindia show, the British Plastics Federation (BPF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Turkish Plastics Association to strengthen the co-operation between the two associations and to promote the development of the plastics industries in United Kingdom and in Turkey. The document was signed by Huseyin Semerci, president of the Turkish association and Philip Law, the BPFPublic and Industrial Affairs Director. Trade Mission to India and Plastindia (1-4.02.2012) With the support of UK Trade & Investment, the BPF organised a Trade Mission to India of 17 delegates from 11 UK firms to visit the market and explore the opportunities of the Indian plastics market with the aim of establishing joint ventures, finding a local distributor or establishing links for direct export. The official 4 day programme included Plastindia visit and Business to Business meetings. Most of the UK delegates have not been to India before and they had been assisted by the BPF staff with their travel preparations prior to the visit including help with arranging the business visa to India, help with booking the group hotel in Delhi and assistance with promoting their activities in the Indian market. The Trade Mission commenced with a group meal to welcome the delegates in India and provided an excellent opportunity for the participants to meet one anoher. Also, all delegates stayed in a group-recommended hotel, which meant that they could network in the evenings after the show. For the following two days, the Mission delegates were provided a transport to and from the show and took part in a number of meetings, some of which were pre-arranged prior to the show. All of the mission delegates featured in a guide brochure, which was printed in 1000 copies and distributed from the BPF stand during the show. The Mission Guide was also used to promote the companies prior and during the fair to the local buyers and potential business partners. Source: plastixanz.com
