Swiss-headquartered resources company Ferrexpo, whose main interests are in Ukrainian iron ore assets, has announced that in the first quarter of 2014 its overall iron ore pellet production increased by 10.4 percent year on year to 2.81 million mt.
In the first quarter, Ferrexpo's pellet production from its own raw materials increased by 9.2 percent year on year, amounting to 2.71 million mt, while its pellet production from third party concentrate stood at 102,000 mt, rising 55.2 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
Ferrexpo Yeristovo Mining's iron ore production in the given quarter amounted to 706,700 mt, up 115.4 percent, while iron ore production from Ferrexpo Poltova Mining decreased by seven percent to 2 million mt, both compared to the first quarter of 2013.
