On the recent Guangzhou Lighting Fair, Philips showcased its latest LED research achievements for road field, it first introduced 3000K warm white LED street lighting solutions to the Chinese market, Philips aims to fill the gap in the current LED lighting market with innovative technology.
The new 3000K warm white LED lighting products not only provide sufficient surface brightness on street to ensure road safety, but also it offers driver and passengers comfortable viewing experience with the appropriate color temperature, while completing the social responsibility of energy saving, undoubtedly it will lead the new trend of green lighting.
In view of the comfort of road lighting, Philips has done a lot of theoretical studies and experimental tests about roads and streets around the world, for example, it tested the different performance of various lighting sources in Lyon, France, and it found that the warm white light source is getting more recognition from consumers because of its light color comfort and color rendering; while the experiments on light source contrast under three different color temperatures carried out in Suzhou, China showed that 63% of people prefer 3000K color temperature. Therefore, for the purposes of LED road lighting, 3000K warm white light is considered to be more comfortable, bright and warm light makes pedestrians and drivers to be relaxed, and thus 3000K warm white light is more welcomed by people.
