Mondi Ibersac has been certified with the British Retail Consortium/Institute of Packaging (BRC/IoP) standard, which is important for customers in the food industry specifically.
Mondi Industrial Bags Spain is said to be the first industrial bags plant in Spain to receive this certification.
In addition to environmental sourcing (FSC and PEFC) and quality management (ISO 9001), the plant also offers the highest standards in hygiene to its customers.
The plant also secured its re-certification of the ISO 9001 and PEFC and FSC systems.
Mondi Industrial Bags Spain managing director Luis Elorriaga said the certifications will allow the company to meet its customer needs, such as high hygiene standards for the food industry and the growing environmental requirements.
"With this step our plant in Aranguren further strengthens its position in producing food packaging for the national and international markets," Elorriaga added.
