Huntsman Textile Effects (HTE), Singapore, has introduced the PHOBOL? CP range of fluoropolymer textile finishes offering dual-action stain management for apparel.

The new range, which includes Phobol CP-DP and CP-DL, combines an oil- and water-based stain-repelling agent with a release technology that prevents fibers from absorbing soil and stains.

The Phobol CP range is based on Wilmington, Del.-based DuPont's DuPont? Capstone? short-chain fluorine chemistry, which meets the requirements of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's 2010/15 Perfluorooctanoic acid Stewardship Program. The finishes comply with the European Union Directive 2006/122 for Perfluorooctanesulfonic acid and with the Oeko-Tex? Standard 100 as well as requirements of various brand/retail Restricted Substances Lists; and also align with the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) joint roadmap.

"These products are additions to our extensive range of short-chain fluorochemicals which help our customers meet the commitments of the ZDHC joint roadmap," said Steve Gray, global vice president, strategic marketing and planning, Huntsman Textile Effects. "The alliance continues to drive the transition and deliver technological advancements that have a lower environmental footprint."

Fabrics treated with HTE's Phobol CP range may be sold under the Teflon.
