Users of Amazon.com Were Not Able to Access The Online Retailing Website on Monday

Site went offline for about 45 minutes

Users of Amazon.com were not able to access the online retailing website on Monday afternoon as the site experienced a brief outage, making it the latest one after Google.

During the outage, visitors to the site were greeted with a message saying: 'Oops! We're very sorry,' together with a report notifying '500 Service Unavailable Error'.

The online retailing site, however, recovered from the crash about half an hour after the problem was first flagged by users and affected Amazon's main website in the US and Canada.

Users also reported facing hitches during accessing both Amazon.com and the Amazon Web Services cloud, too.

The latest outage follows Google's two-minute downtime on 16 August, affecting the search engine firm's main search page in addition to its Gmail email service, YouTube and Drive storage.

Google resolved the issues and restored all websites and services that prevented users from accessing services for about five minutes, which also resulted in disruption of 40% of global internet traffic.
