CeMAT Hannover Has Entered a Strategic Partnership with MHI

CeMAT Hannover, Europe’s largest trade show for material handling and logistics, announced today that it has entered a strategic partnership with MHI, the nation’s largest material handling, logistics and supply chain association. The partnership offers MHI members an exclusive opportunity to connect with qualified international material handling/logistics buyers via a member pavilion at CeMAT Hannover from May 19-23, 2014.

CeMAT Hannover draws the largest share of international attendees than any other event in the materials handling industry. More than one third of attendees come from outside of Germany. MHI members who exhibit in the pavilion will meet face-to-face with highly qualified and well informed international buyers during the trade show.

“All signs point toward solid export growth for the U.S. material handling equipment industry in the next few years,” said Larry Turner, president and CEO of Hannover Fairs USA. “MHI members who choose to take advantage of this strategic partnership can expect to efficiently boost exports by connecting with highly sought-after buyers and decision-makers from across the globe.”

As international demand for efficient, easier to maintain material handling equipment rises, U.S. manufacturers that make a conscious effort to export will enhance their bottom line. According to a Sundale Research report on the State of the U.S. Material Handling Equipment Industry published July 2013, U.S. manufactures will see a wealth of opportunities in foreign markets going forward. In 2012, exports accounted for 17.7% of total U.S. shipments of material handling equipment, a figure that is expected to rise through 2017.

As companies around the world continue to invest in new material handling equipment, CeMAT is an enormously important event for U.S. manufacturers to tap into this growth trend. Global buyers from growing and rebounding world economies, such as Brazil, China, and India have a strong demand for material handling equipment. Visitors from these countries will attend CeMAT Hannover 2014 and will be looking to purchase new systems that maximize productivity while improving energy and operating efficiency.

MHI will offer up to eight members the opportunity to participate in the trade mission and present their technologies to an audience of 60,000 expected attendees at the popular Pick & Pack Hall 12. MHI members will benefit from a prominent booth location under a well promoted MHI umbrella and association support. Members will receive pre-show and onsite marketing and organizational support from CeMAT and MHI.
