The vehicle is a working replica of the Hot Wheels Star Wars Darth Vader die-cast car.
When it comes to the San Diego Comic-Con, things are rarely done by halves.
Just take a look at this life-sized working replica of Mattel’s Darth Vader die-cast car, for instance.
Based on the Hot Wheels team’s first official collaboration with the Star Wars franchise, the San Diego Comic Con exclusive Vadermobile, this replica can reach a top speed of 80 miles per hour.
And designed to resemble the villainous Sith lord’s iconic helmet, it even emits a heavy breathing sound.
But the Star Wars and Hot Wheels partnership does not end there, as Comic-Con will be the first place that fans can see the initial line-up of Star Wars Hot Wheels, with the first set featuring models based on Han Solo, Yoda, R2-D2 and Chewbacca.
Doug Wadleigh, Matel’s senior vice president of global brand marketing for boys and entertainment, told the Associated Press:“We have been trying to partner with Lucasfilm and Disney on this property for a long time.”
The life-sized Vadermobile will be on display at Mattel’s booth at San Diego Comic Convention Center.
