American Santa Fe Brewing has acquired 3.27 acre land in Santa Fe, New Mexico to establish a new brewing facility, as part of plans to eventually build 200k-barrel/year brewery.
The move is in line with the expansion of distribution into three new states in 2013.
The purchased land is adjacent to the existing brewery. Construction is expected to be completed in three different phases over three years.
The new plant will enable the brewery to increase its capacity from the current 30,000 barrels annually to 200,000 barrels annually after the final phase of construction.
Santa Fe Brewing president Brian Lock said that they have not scheduled a date to break ground because they were waiting to make sure everything with the land acquisition was final.
"In order to keep up with demand we had to rethink or current facility and we were lucky that the property right next door was available," Lock added.
