Through its LINK program, Countrywide can drive shipments straight to the customer's door when needed, says Anne Housh.
Countrywide Tire & Rubber Inc. is offering a new "umbrella" program that will allow dealers to customize shipments by item and location using any combination of its LINK or Select programs.
LINK is Countrywide's direct container program, which was introduced last April. Select is the company's flagship warehouse distribution model.
The new program is titled, “Distribution Network Affinity,” or “D.N.A.”
“The development of D.N.A. is just another example of how we are constantly listening to our customers’ needs," says Anne Housh, vice president of sales. “D.N.A. will ultimately allow our customers to grow with us, control their profits, and provide them with a competitive edge in the industry.”
The “Select” warehouse program offers a wide variety of benefits and service, such as prepaid freight on all orders and inventory allocation systems that allow for consistently high fill rates. Also, all orders are fulfilled within one to two business days. (Additional services such as drop shipping, custom labeling, order tracking and shipping notifications are also available.)
Customers receive updates with details regarding the following in the LINK program:
* the departure from factory arrival at the United States port;
* the delivery release; and
* a post delivery follow up.
"What sets (the LINK) program apart is that we can drive the shipment straight to the customers door exactly when they want it there using an extremely effective communication process,” says Housh.
Customers can expect the same level of service found with either the Select or LINK program. Countrywide’s logistics department serves as the communication tie between customers and the factory.
