Taiwan-based crystalline silicon solar cell and PV module maker Tainergy Tech will expand its annual production capacity for solar cells from 560MWp currently to 700MWp,and that for PV modules from 100MWp to 200MWp in 2014,according to the company.
Tainergy will expand the annual solar cell capacity at its factory in Kunshan,eastern China,from 60MWp at present to 200MWp in the second quarter of 2014,while capacity in Taiwan will remain unchanged,the company said.In addition,Tainergy will increase the proportion of total solar cell output that is monocrystalline silicon models from 20%currently,the company indicated.
Tainergy produces PV modules in Taiwan,and Europe and Japan are its major markets,the company noted.In order to expand marketing in Japan,Tainergy set up a subsidiary in Tokyo in December 2013.
Viewing that the US will launch an anti-dumping investigation against Taiwan-based solar cell makers which supply solar cells to China-based makers to produce PV modules for export to the US market,Tainergy will focus solar cell marketing in Europe,the company said,adding that Europe accounts for about 50%of its solar cell shipments.
