Bristol Water has issued a tender worth £10m for the provision of IT services.
The utility, which claims to supply more than one million people with water within an area of 1,000 square miles in Bristol, said that it was looking for a single operator for a "comprehensive outsourced IT services arrangement".

In the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) tender, the company said: "The contractor will be responsible for monitoring, support, maintenance, and development of the entire IT infrastructure and associated software systems to ensure a robust and reliable service".
Bristol Water, which claims to have an average daily supply of 282 million litres of water, said that the ten-year contract is likely to be worth in excess of £1m per annum.
"Applicants must be able to demonstrate technical capacity, commercial status and relevant experience to provide the appropriate service at an acceptable cost," it added.
The contract is not covered by the Government Procurement Agreement, and is a recurrent procurement, with further notices to be published every five to 10 years.
An overview of the required IT services will be made available through SAP Sourcing on request and suppliers will initially be expected to complete a questionnaire.
