Karo Bio, a drugmaker for large medical needs, has selected Reaxys and Reaxys Medicinal Chemistry solutions, which will enable the company's chemists to access chemistry information, while help achieve their research and development objectives.
Featuring an extensive fact-base of experimentally measured chemistry data, Reaxys currently contains information of more than 16,000 periodicals.
Karo Bio chief scientific officer Maria Sjberg said that not only do chemists have access to more data, including biological as well as chemical information, but the content is more applicable to their research.
Working in conjunction with Reaxys, Reaxys Medicinal Chemistry provides data from a huge repository of peer-reviewed journal articles and patents.
"We expect the availability of the Reaxys Medicinal Chemistry information alone will reduce research and development time by approximately 20 percent," Sjberg added.
Both the solutions belong to Elsevier Life Science Solutions, which is a suite of interoperable, domain-specific, decision support tools covering the discovery and development workflow.
The solutions along with Karo Bio's information sources will enable chemists to pace up identification and prioritization of viable compounds, while helping in bringing new drugs to market faster.
