Reportedly, Norsk Hydro has signed an agreement to sell the aluminum rolling mill in Malaysia to Nippon Foil Mfg. Co., Ltd. (NFM), a wholly owned subsidiary of UACJ Corporation, based in Japan. It’s leaned that the transaction prices for the acquisition is about US$20 million. In the background, Norsk Hydro acquired the aluminum rolling mill through acquiring VAW aluminium AG. Meanwhile, the annual production capacity of the aluminum rolling mill is at around 12,000 tons. Oliver Bell, the Executive Vice President of Rolled Products of Norsk Hydro said that the company will continue to strengthen its leadership position of aluminum foil in Europe.
