RockTenn, the US-based manufacturer of corrugated and consumer packaging has closed on its acquisition of the assets of Mid South Packaging, a corrugated packaging manufacturer from Coridel Capital Partners, a New York-based alternative asset management firm.
RockTenn chairman and chief executive officer James Rubright said the acquisition of Mid South is in keeping with the company's announced strategy to seek acquisitions that increase its integration level.
"Adding Mid South's unique customers to RockTenn's already diversified customer base further strengthens our market reach," Rubright said.
Mid South, which has operations in Cullman, Alabama, and Olive Branch, Mississippi, is comprised of three main segments including AutoLogic, which supplies specialized packaging to the automotive parts industry; the ComboPAC Food Group, which supplies bulk boxes to the poultry and meat industries.
The other segment is the Retail Design Group, which provides corrugated packaging and retail displays to consumer packaged goods companies.
