Sensient Technologies plans to set up a new color and flavor complex in Johannesburg,South Africa.The complex will feature research,development and manufacturing sites,with dedicated facilities for both colours and flavors.
The company claimed that the expansion will help in the growth of colors and flavors for foods and beverages in South Africa and reinforce its position within the African marketplace.
The facility is also expected to boost Sensient's ability to service the market for pharmaceutical colors and coatings.
Sensient Technologies COO and president Paul Manning said that their customers are seeking local commercial and technical service,with quick and flexible manufacturing,and product availability."With this investment,we can ensure that our customers have shorter lead times,better logistics and more convenient technical service,"Manning said.
Meanwhile,the firm has developed a new range of apple flavours.Spanning ten apple varieties,these flavours can be used in several food applications such as cereals and baked goods.
The new flavours include Braeburn,Golden Delicious and Granny Smith.
