Pratt Industries has designed a new packaging for Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, as part of the ecommerce inside print packaging series.
Jeni provides ice creams in 32 company-owned scoop shops across the US, in addition to shipping their ice cream direct to consumers’ doorsteps across all 50 states through their online shop.
Jeni has selected Pratt to design advanced shipping box with better look and enhanced safety features.
Earlier, Jeni used a traditional brown corrugated box with a cooler inside and a block of dry ice wrapped in butcher paper inside a plastic bag to keep the ice cream frozen.
Maintaining the control on the product is an issue once the packages leave the Jeni’s fulfilment center.
Pratt has designed a ventilated and corrugated overwrap for the dry ice packs to protect the ice cream, helping to ship the ice in a better quality to the consumers.
The corrugated dry ice casings also provided additional branding and messaging optiosn through printing.
To enhance the unboxing experience, Pratt elevated the bright-orange lids on top of each ice cream container by designing an insert that will position product in a way that showcases the branding as soon as customer opens the box.
Jeni also worked with Pratt’s recycling division to install a vertical bailer at their warehouse, helping to increase the recycling of old corrugated containers (OCC).
