US-based NGS Printing has invested in a new D3 L-3200 cutting system from Zund, a developer, manufacturer, and distributor of multi-functional digital cutters.
The Zünd D3 L-3200, which is the second cutting system to be installed by NGS Printing from Zund, features two independent heads that work together to increase productivity.
Zund said that the ultra-productive D3 cutting system is designed to increase capacity as well as save time and space.
For NGS Printing, the two cutting systems have been configured to include an automatic board-feeder and extension of the off-load area, to facilitate a non-stop production workflow.
The D3 system also offers routing, creasing, and knife-cutting capabilities for NGS, which is said to be the first sign and graphics company to install the system in North America.
NGS Printing official Owen Scheppman: “Because of the pressure to continually reduce turnaround times, our goal was to increase our throughput by at least 50%.”
NGS Printing is engaged in producing display graphics and retail signage using materials including Sintra, styrene, static cling, magnetics, foamboards, acrylic, PETG, polycarbonate, and Paper.
Scheppman added: “With Zünd, we have opted for investing in our second D3 which continues to be the most productive digital finishing system in the world and will help us stay ahead of the curve.”
