US-based provider of flexible packaging products and solutions Apple Converting has obtained Safety Quality Food (SQF) Level 2 Certification for food safety fundamentals and hazard analysis critical control points.
The SQF certification is provided to suppliers after their successful completion of extensive training; development and implementation of food safety and quality plans; and undertaking a third-party audit.
In certification process, a third-party audit calls for evaluation of the company's food safety and quality programs comprising cleaning and sanitation, personnel practices and plant maintenance.
The company has achieved certification as its operating standards are said to be in compliance with current good manufacturing practices.
Apple Converting certifies that all its products conform to toxic-packaging reduction act requirements.
Additionally, the company is listed, regularly inspected and certified by the New York State's Department of Agriculture and Markets Division of Milk Control and Dairy Services for the fabrication of containers and closers for dairy products.
Apple Converting sales and marketing director Eric Kusche said the company has obtained SQF certification as it provides better flexible packaging solutions.
"Our employees worked diligently to achieve SQF certification and are dedicated to continual improvement," added Kusche.
