Masco Decided in Early February 2013 to Put Its Danish Subsidiary Tvilum up for Sale

The US consumer goods group Masco decided in early February 2013 to put its Danish subsidiary Tvilum up for sale. Tvilum, a producer of flatpack furniture, has been facing considerable decline in turnover and losses over the last few years.

As a result, the company gradually curtailed its production capacities and is no longer considered core business at Masco. Masco issued a circular to inform Tvilum’s clients of the decision yesterday. According to the circular, Masco is looking for an investor who is willing to continue operations at Tvilum without interruption. With the possible sale of Tvilum, Masco would part with around US$250m of turnover.
