Tempur Sealy International Is Restructuring Its Domestic Sales Functions

Tempur Sealy International is restructuring its domestic sales functions in what it describes as a strategic move to drive growth and profitability.

Beginning this month, the Tempur-Pedic and Sealy businesses will be managed under an integrated national accounts organization that plays to the leadership strengths of each group to improve customer relations and streamline communications between both brands, officials said.

Rick Anderson, executive vice president and president of Tempur-Pedic North America, will oversee execution of the organization's go-to-market strategies and customer development across all wholesale channels. He will also have responsibility for sales, category management, customer marketing, sales development and sales training, reporting to Sealy CEO Larry Rogers and Tempur-Sealy Chief Operating Officer Timothy Yaggi.

Anderson will be supported by Steve Rusing, a Sealy sales executive who was recently named senior vice president, national accounts.

"Both Rick and Steve bring a proven track record in sales and management experience to their new roles, and we're confident in their abilities to help maximize the value Tempur Sealy brings to our customer base," said Rogers. "This organizational restructure will improve our working relationships with customers and ultimately drive the success of our business across all channels."

Four regional field sales teams will report to Anderson. Sealy East and Sealy West teams will support current Sealy customers and Tempur-Pedic East and Tempur-Pedic West teams will support current Tempur-Pedic customers, officials said.

All current Tempur-Pedic and Sealy national account manager and key account manager positions remain in the new structure.

Field sales and training teams will retain their separate-but-linked positions to maintain effective customer development and sales training processes while maximizing the unique sales competencies necessary for the company's different business models, officials said.
