VODAFONE Australia chief executive Bill Morrow has stepped up calls for the competition regulator to trigger a regulatory review of Telstra's dominance of the mobile and fixed-line telecommunications markets.
Speaking at a strategy update at Vodafone's headquarters in North Sydney yesterday, Mr Morrow said the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission should investigate Telstra's unfettered ability to funnel the near-monopoly profits it reaps from its fixed-line business back into its mobile operations, arguing that the practice leaves the rest of the $40 billion-a-year telco sector at a disadvantage.
