Oeko-Tex Association has named Georg Dieners as the new general secretary and he takes over from Dr. Jean-Pierre Haug.
Jean-Pierre Haug will concentrate on professional cooperation in the technical committees within the Oeko-Tex Association in the future.
Georg Dieners was previously employed as the director of Product Management at LHD Group GmbH where he was responsible for product development of workwear and personal protective equipment.
Dieners graduated from Fachhochschule Niederrhein in textile technology and has many years of experience in various management positions and companies within the textile sector.
“Georg Dieners has the broad range of knowledge required for his new role as the general secretary,” Oeko-Tex said.
Excellent industry and sector contacts as well as his previous employment activities related to sustainable textile production complete his specialist competences.
"In view of the growing importance of sustainability, Oeko-Tex is concerned with better aligning their own product portfolio to the needs of all players in the textile value chain in the future", Georg Diener said.
"To ensure that companies gain the most benefit from our services, we want to better address interested companies searching for suitable modules for implementing their sustainability strategy," the chief added.
Oeko-Tex for the first time has employed a specialist exclusively for this position, who will manage the commercial operations of the Association with its 16 member institutes in the future. (AR)
