The cycling industry marketing services company founded by Jasen Thorpe two years ago has a new name, a new website and a new employee.
Thorpe has changed his company's name from Thorpe Media to Thorpe Marketing and launched ThorpeMarketing.com. He also has hired Bryson Ross, formerly the marketing director at Speedplay, as account manager.
Thorpe has more than 25 years' experience in the bike industry, including stints at retail, as a journalist with Rodale and with Shimano American and other suppliers.
"While we originally envisioned an exclusively PR and media relations business, we've identified and responded to clients' requests for services spanning a more complete range of our abilities and experiences, including all aspects of marketing and communications." said Thorpe. "This approach allows us to be more adaptable to our clients' needs and to scale or adapt our offerings as their needs change to deliver the best possible support, as and when it's needed."
Thorpe has emphasized market research and communications into the IBD marketplace. "Our approach is to complement the work being done by groups like Leisure Trends, BPSA and others, in that we've developed research tools and processes that help bridge the gap between this macro level data and something that can immediately be acted upon by sales teams in the market in a way that increases sales, efficiency of sales efforts, and profitability."
Thorpe's clients include WL Gore Bike Wear, Mad Fiber, Wilier Triestina, Velo saddles, Stage Race Distribution, and Vassago Cycles.
