Digi-Star Has Acquired a British Firm

Digi-Star LLC, a Fort Atkinson maker of agricultural scales and precision measuring equipment, has acquired a British firm it expects to strengthen product offerings and global opportunities, Digi-Star owner Baird Capital Partners said Monday. Terms of the purchase of RDS Technology, a United Kingdom-based firm that provides monitoring, measuring and control systems for the agricultural machinery industry, were not disclosed. "The acquisition of RDS significantly broadens Digi-Star's sales and distribution platform and enhances the company's product lines with complementary offerings," said Andrew Brickman, partner at Baird Capital Partners. "This combination allows Digi-Star to operate as a comprehensive control solutions provider to the agricultural and industrial markets, meeting an expressed need in the market." Baird Capital Partners is the U.S.-based buyout fund of Baird Private Equity. Digi-Star was acquired about a year ago by Baird Capital Partners, with Grant Ihrke being retained as Digi-Star president. Digi-Star's customized systems and data collection and management software are used in mobile farm equipment to help optimize profitability, Baird said. Source: JSOnline
