The Carpet Show 2012, an expo of Pakistan-made hand-knotted carpets would kick off at Expo Centre in Lahore from October 7.
The three-day show being organized by the Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA), in association with Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), would be inaugurated by Federal Textile Minister Makhdoom Shahabuddin.
Around 50 domestic carpet makers would showcase their products at the expo, which is likely to be visited by several global buyers.
Intending to generate awareness regarding the functioning and achievements of the carpet industry and about the targets achieved by the industry so far, PCMEA would try to draw maximum number of people, including investors, students and general public to the show.
Delegates from all over the globe have been invited to visit the expo and it is believed that more than 100 overseas firms would visit the event, which is considered to be the biggest show of Pakistani handmade carpets.
According to experts, trade fairs present exporters with an excellent opportunity to boost the visibility of their products and to present their new as well as existing products before the world.
The carpet show would not only help entrepreneurs and business owners to promote their products, but would also further an excellent networking opportunity, and even boost the country's image.
Through the show, PCMEA and TDAP would try to ensure inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI), develop partnerships and enhance market share of Pakistani hand-made carpets.
