Cement Prices to Increase to 7,500 Guarani Per Bag

Cement prices to increase to 7,500 guarani per bag. (CW Group) Paraguayan cement prices are set to increase in order to allow the National Cement Industry (INC) to generate additional revenue reports ABC. The company plans to raise cement prices between 5,000 to 7,500 guarani per bag bringing prices to 35,000 to 42,500 guarani per bag. The company says that it plans to allocate the new revenue for investment projects. The company has announced plans to upgrade its clinker kiln to utilize alternative fuels as well as, installing a new chiller and new equipment for the bagging. The company hopes to complete the upgrades in 6 to 18 months. The company says the upgrades would help reduce production costs while increasing its production capacity. The changes would allow it to raise its daily capacity by 20,000 bags to 75,000 bags. It would save the company $22 million per year as well as fully covering local demand. Source: cemweek.com
