John West Has Initiated Plans to Enter The German Market with Pole and Line Caught Tuna

John West has initiated plans to enter the German market with its Pole and Line caught Tuna, which includes Steaks, Chunks and Salads.

According to the company, the Pole and Line range will be 100% Skipjack Tuna and will comprise of three varieties, Steaks, Chunks and Salads.

The product will be packed in 160g cans, and will be available at all Edeka stores across Germany.

This launch will coincide with the roll out of John West's Can Tracker in Germany, an application which enables customers to track the exact source of their fish, reported the Food & Drink Innovation Network.

John West managing director Paul Reenan said that the launch of the Pole and Line range and Can Tracker application are a key part of their sustainable sourcing policy, effective across the Europe.

"These initiatives form part of a wider sustainable sourcing policy which came into effect in 2011, and will see John West move to 100 per cent Pole and Line and/ or FAD-free fishing by 2016 across all markets in which we operate," added Reenan.
