According to statistics released by the Korea Iron & Steel Association (KOSA), the country’s H beam output totaled 208,540 tons in September, decreasing by 11% from a month ago and hitting the lowest of this year.
KOSA said that the dip in H-beam output in September was caused by the fewer working days from a three-day national holiday in September and Hyundai Steel’s ten days of maintenance at its Incheon works.
In January-September, the country’s H-beam production amounted to 2.29 million tons, falling by 9% year on year.
