Ultimate TechnoGraphics has joined the Ghent Workgroup (GWG), an international organization of graphic arts users, associations & developers building best practices for publishing, print and packaging workflows.
Industry experts, including industry, vendor, association and educational members, are joining the GWG in increasing numbers; creating a unique and collaborative infrastructure for creating and testing international specifications.
The results have been so positive that the GWG is on the way to significantly expanding the scope of projects it can undertake on behalf of the worldwide graphic arts community.
The recent Ghent PDF Output Suite 5.0, created to help determine whether workflows are behaving as expected, now includes ICC based patches allowed in PDF/X-4 (ISO 15930-7).
According to Julie Watson, CEO of Ultimate TechnoGraphics, “Our goal is to help our customers achieve efficient print production and turn the challenging short runs and quick turnaround times into an opportunity. We have joined Ghent workgroup with automation in mind, especially when it comes to our newest true shape nesting capability. Establishing PDF standards are key to prepress automation.”
David Zwang, Chairman, Ghent Workgroup, concludes: “As a leader in imposition and finishing automation software solutions, Ultimate TechnoGraphics has a rich history of providing and integrating imposition technologies into hardware and software workflow solutions for print industry leaders. We welcome their expertise and encourage them to fully support and incorporate the Ghent Workgroup Specifications into their solution offerings.”
