US-based The Orthopaedic Implant Company (OIC) has launched its proximal humerus plate for upper extremity fractures.
OIC has designed the proximal humerus plate for two key challenges specific to proximal humerus fractures. These challenges include prevention of subacromial impingement and varus collapse of the humeral head.
Suture holes of the plate allow surgeons to place sutures addressing tuberosity repairs post humeral-head fixation.
The company's proximal humerus, distal radius and clavicle plates are supported by a single set of instrumentation and screws.
According to OIC, the modularity of the set reinforces physicians' familiarity and comfort with the instrumentation, while providing facilities with a simple approach to set management for a broad spectrum of cases.
The system provides lag screw fixation for comminuted patterns, non-locking screws to obtain compression across simple patterns and locking fixation in osteopenic bone and multi-fragmentary fracture patterns.
OIC president and CEO Itai Nemovicher noted the response to its high value upper extremity plates has been overwhelmingly positive.
"We are proud to offer our customers the ability to now save on proximal humerus plates as well," Nemovicher added.
OIC said that its anatomic locking plate and screw line will continually expand in the coming months.
