This month's event will be waltzing to the heart of London’s movie-land with a menu of games linked to film and TV.
Nomadic dice-throwing event Board Game Club is heading to Leicester Square this month to celebrate all things film on Thursday, July 30th.
In a night dedicated to the game stars of the big and small screen, the event will be waltzing to the heart of London’s movie-land with a menu filled with games linked to film and TV, past and present.
‘2015 is quite the year for cinema and this of course means lucrative licensing and spin-offs for games manufacturers,” said Board Game club co-founder, Lesley Singleton of Playtime PR.
“But we are also seeing some interesting film-linked activities from the indies, too – like Accentuate’s Film quotes expansion pack – so we’re heading ‘up West’ to celebrate this niche in the heart of London’s movie district, Leicester Square.”
Taking over the cellar bar at the ‘every hotel Piccadilly’, Board Game Club’s Night at the Movies’ games menu will be planned to showcase an array of titles from big brands and indies alike.
“There’s still time for brands and inventors to get involved with our Night at the Movies,” added co-founder and Toyologist, Peter Jenkinson.
“We’ll consider board, card, dice and party games with film or TV hook, but we’re also scouring our own eclectic collection of games for some unique surprises on the night.
“We’d definitely encourage brands to get in touch with their suggestions though – we’re always happy to consider games for the menu and this night offers a really special opportunity.”
On top of the new venue, Board Game Club has also launched a new dedicated website – www.boardgameclub.net - featuring news of upcoming events, details of how brands and inventors can take part and pictures from past gatherings.
Board Game Club’s Night at the Movies will take place on Thursday, July 30th at The Cellar bar, every hotel Piccadilly, Coventry Street, London at 6pm – 11pm..
