Nissan GT-R Black Edition Will Go on Sale in Australia Next Month to Enhance The Line-up

The Nissan GT-R Black Edition will go on sale in Australia next month, enhancing the line-up with an aggressive performance-themed styling package.

The GT-R Black Edition becomes the new flagship in Nissan’s local supercar range.

Unique to the Black Edition is a set of lightweight metallic black 20-inch RAYS forged alloy wheels that both reduce unsprung weight and feature knurled beads to help keep the tyres from moving on the rims under hard acceleration.

A carbonfibre spoiler distinguishes the rear, while red and black leather embraces the dashboard and doors, steering wheel and gearshift knob, and the specially commissioned Recaro front seats designed to offer ergonomic support for road and track use.

The Black Edition’s drivetrain is untouched, with its 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V6 continuing to produce 404kW of power and 628Nm of torque, making it good for a sprint from 0-100km/h in just 2.7 seconds.

Nissan Australia managing director and CEO William Peffer said he was pleased to introduce the GT-R Black Edition to the local line-up, with the car already proving popular overseas.

The Nissan GT-R Black Edition will be priced from $182,500 before on-road costs ($199,990 estimated driveaway price), commanding an $11,700 premium over the standard GT-R.

Nissan GT-R sales were down 24 per cent in Australia in the first four months of the year, with just 22 finding homes across the country.
