International press manufacturer Koenig & Bauer (KBA) has agreed to supply its Rapida 145 sheetfed offset press o France based A&R Carton.
Showcased by KBA at Drupa 2016 held in Germany, the Rapida 145 press features six printing units, coater, triple extended delivery and automated pile logistics.
In autumn 2016, KBA will install the high-performance jumbo press with up to 18,000sph in format 106x145cm at A&R Carton CDF in Cholet, western France.
Equipped with high-performance coater for UV and acrylic varnish, the Rapida 145 is designed for the production of various types of food packaging.
Additional features of the machine include DriveTronic simultaneous roller wash (SRW) for inking unit washing in parallel to other makeready processes.
It is also integrated with CleanTronic Multi blanket and impression cylinder washing system for ink changes, CleanTronic UV, EasyClean ink ducts with non-stick coating for fast ink change and nonstop modules with automated pile logistics at the feeder and delivery.
Europe based packaging group A&R Carton has production sites in many European countries from France to Russia.
Separately, KBA said it will supply waterless KBA Cortina compact web press, featuring hot-air dryer for the production of high-quality newspapers, in the island of La Réunion which belongs to France.
The 4/2 press also features a four-high tower for 4-over-4 printing, an autopaster and a KF3SC jaw folder.
