According to the provisional estimates released by the Joint Plant Committee (JPC), India’s finished steel consumption amounted to 24.1 million tons in the first four months of the Indian fiscal year 2013/14 started from April 1st, 2013, up slightly by 0.2% year on year.
In the given period of time, the country’s finished steel production totaled 26.1 million tons, rising by 3.1% year on year.
Meanwhile, India’s imports of finished steel products totaled 1.8 million tons in the period between April and July, slumping by 36.7% year on year.
