The UK Food Standards Agency(FSA)is inviting applications for three new research projects,as a part of its efforts to ensure food safety.
The projects will determine the scope of developing a consumer'willingness to pay'figure, measure environmental contaminants in fish and shellfish, and measure microbiological contamination in minced meat.
FSA noted that the aim of the first project is to determine the cost consumer is willing to pay for reducing food safety health risks.
The second project will measure contaminants,in fish and shellfish, and will deliver a baseline data for the Marine Strategy Framework Directive, while the final microbiological contamination in minced meat project aims to develop a monitoring program under which samples from meat establishments will be tested.
