Magellan Robotic System Will Be Displayed by Hansen in US

Hansen Medical will present its Magellan Robotic System at the 39th Annual VEITHsymposium, which will be held at Hilton New York in New York, US from 13-17 November 2012.

By utilizing flexible robotic technology, the Magellan robotic system allows sufficient extension inside the body to access hard to reach peripheral anatomy.

The robotic system allows for independent, individual robotic control of the distal tips of both the outer sheath and the inner leader catheter, as well as robotic manipulation of standard guidewires.

In addition, the system provides solid catheter stability for placement of therapeutic devices and reduces physician radiation exposure and fatigue by employing a remote physician workstation.

Hansen Medical president and CEO Bruce Barclay said the company is pleased to exhibit its Magellan System at VEITHsymposium's seminal vascular conference.

"Moreover, the timing of this meeting allows physicians to discuss their early use of Magellan for a variety of intravascular procedures, and continues the momentum generated by our initial Magellan System launch in the U.S," Barclay added.
