MSB, Weather Fusion to Help Insurance Carriers to Proactively Identify Pre-Existing Hail

Marshall & Swift/Boeckh (MSB) has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Weather Fusion to help insurance carriers to proactively identify pre-existing hail damage on new business and renewal portfolio.

The partnership will deliver advanced analytics and portfolio reviews to optimize underwriting performance and alleviate roof-related loss expenses.

Specifically, the collaboration will offer Weather Fusion's Pre-Existing Hail Risk Score to help insurers implement underwriting rules to order a roof inspection, or alternatively reject an unnecessary inspection.

MSB Underwriting Solutions senior vice president Steven Brewer said the partnership further advances the company's strategy to offer defendable property risk information to help carriers write profitable property business.

"The intelligence provided by the Pre-Existing Hail Risk Score will help our clients to better underwrite and price roof risk and further optimize their inspection operations," Brewer added.

Weather Fusion CEO Don Giuliano said the collaboration will help carriers integrate the only dataset designed exclusively for hail verification directly into their existing workflow.

''This means underwriters can now know instantly which properties are most at risk of having pre-existing roof damage," Giuliano added.

MSB provides building cost information, residential and commercial analytics solutions and book of business management services for the property insurance companies, financial services organizations and government entities across the US.
