Flexible packaging producer Ampac has launched a commercial stand-up pouch using the QuickZip closure that features the Aplix fastener system.
An alternative closure to the conventional press-to-close zipper, QuickZip uses a zipper closure method with hook and loop technology that claims to eliminate the struggle with traditional closures and makes it easy to open and reseal pouches.
QuickZip also requires minimal pressure to close and its rigid grips help in facilitating opening, says the company. There is no need for the zipper to be aligned specifically to open or close.
Packaging has been specifically developed for Ampac's client Select Harvest that has used it to pack Select Harvest's rotogravure printed stand-up almond pouch.
Select Harvest specialises in producing almonds for food service applications and partnered with Ampac on the debut launch of its California Almonds.
Ideal for dry product applications the product features numerous openings and closings. It is also said to be contaminant resistant. The pouch easily seals through powders and fine particles.
Ampac's senior market manager for food Millie Nuno said: "Ampac is proud to partner with Select Harvest in the advancement of its brand and to provide an enhanced consumer experience with innovation like the QuickZip closure in their California Almond pouch. The pouch was printed, laminated and converted at our Hanover Park manufacturing center of excellence."
