Integrated transport software applications provider Trapeze has signed a vehicle system upgrade contract with Bi-State Development Agency of the Missouri-Illinois Metropolitan District (Metro).
Under the contract, Trapeze will upgrade about 330 Metro fleet vehicles with its Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) and IVLU's (Integrated Vehicle Logic Unit).
Trapeze's MDT is designed for a single log-on and it allows Metro drivers to not only log-on to the CAD AVL system, but also all integrated ancillary equipment onboard the vehicle.
For transit agencies like Metro, the MDTs will provide real-time interaction between the vehicle fleet and dispatch centre for safe and efficient operations.
It will also helps ensure control and accuracy with an onboard information and communication system.
The IVLU Metro is a modular on-board computer that controls, monitors, records and oversees each vehicle in their mobile fleet.
It also includes accurate positioning and navigational tools that help Metro's drivers to navigate their routes any time.
