Medical Instruments Can Be Easily Loaded Into The Pouch

Specialty packaging producer UFP Technologies is all set to exhibit its packaging solutions at the OrthoTec 2013 taking place from 5-6 June in Winona Lake (Warsaw), Indiana.

For the medical device industry, the company will introduce FlexShield, a medical device pouch, which has been designed to prevent medical instruments with sharp points, such as screws, rods, and plates, from compromising the integrity of a sterile barrier system during transit.

FlexShield is made from a durable plastic film that requires no rigid blister packaging and ensures the integrity of the sterile barrier between instruments and outside contaminates from the time of assembly to final use in the operating room.

According to the company, medical instruments can be easily loaded into the pouch and will aid an aseptic presentation during surgery.

For orthopedic implants, the company will also exhibit its custom clean room packaging solutions manufactured from medical-grade materials including closed-cell foams and rigid plastics.

The company's medical packaging solutions provide better shock and vibration protection. Its custom packaging systems offer the flexibility to incorporate multiple medical products in a single package and can cut down tooling costs and inventory.
