A mass of claimed Sony Xperia Z4 Compact specs have leaked, with the handset shaping up to be a true powerhouse of the smartphone scene.
Despite Sony’s ‘Compact’ line targeting the smaller side of the smartphone space, the Japanese giant does not skimp on power when reducing its form factors.
According to latest leaks, the Z4 Compact – which will be a spin-off to the flagship Sony Xperia Z4 – will retain the same 4.7-inch frame as the existing Xperia Z3 Compact while making the jump to a 1080p, Full HD panel.
While improved visuals are sure to appease some, Sony isn’t done there.
The anonymous tipsters have suggested the Z4 Compact’s specs sheet will be further enhanced by Qualcomm’s upcoming 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage – expandable via microSD.
On top of this, a 20.7-megapixel primary camera and 5-megapixel forward-facing snapper combination will reportedly be joined by LTE Cat 9, Bluetooth 4.1 and NFC connectivity options and, of course, Sony’s beloved IP68 water and dust resistant coating.
If you like the sound of the Z4 Compact’s specs sheet but prefer the idea of a larger device, the Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra might be more up your street.
The latest leaks – which we must stress should be taken with a considerable pinch of salt – have claimed the oversized Z4 Ultra will adopt a 6.44-inch QHD panel with a stunning 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution.
Although like the Z4 Compact the Ultra is expected to be bestowed with a Snapdragon 810 chipset and 3GB of RAM, it has been suggested the phone will drop to a 16-megapixel camera.
It is believed Sony will once again refresh its full smartphone line during MWC in early March with the Compact and Ultra lining up alongside the flagship Z4.
However, as neither device has yet been discussed by Sony, these claimed leaks should be treated with some scepticism for now.
