Sales of Passenger Cars and Commercial Vehicles in Turkey Decreased by 21.49%

In the January-August period of this year, sales of passenger cars and commercial vehicles in Turkey decreased by 21.49 percent year on year to 406,967 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey decreased by 20.51 percent to 317,506 units, while sales of commercial vehicles fell by 24.79 percent to 89,461 units, both on year-on-year basis.

Meanwhile, in August this year domestic sales of passenger cars and commercial vehicles decreased by 7.45 percent year on year and increased by 0.49 percent month on month to 60,199 units. In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country decreased by 12.56 percent year on year to 45,131 units and declined by 3.16 percent month on month, while sales of commercial vehicles rose by 12.18 percent year on year to 15,068 units and were up 13.25 percent month on month.
