Tianli Agritech Starts to Sell Its Black Hog Products Through Retail Outlets in Wuhan City

Tianli Agritech, a Chinese producer of breeder hogs, market hogs and black hogs, has started the sale of its branded black hog products through retail outlets in Wuhan City.

Currently, Tianli's black hog meat cuts are available in the Newstar supermarket and three Lao Nong Min retail stores.

The company's black hogs and Tianli-Xiduhei meat cuts are products of the company's "10,000 families and 1,000,000 Black Hogs" program in Enshi Prefecture, Hubei Province.

Commenting on the sale Tianli Agritech chairwoman and CEO Hanying Li said that the sale of Tianli-Xiduhei black hog meat cuts in the Wuhan market follows the entry of the company's black hogs into the Beijing market in January 2013.

"As we plan to enter new geographic markets and further penetrate the Beijing and Wuhan markets in coming quarters, we expect our Black Hogs Program to contribute meaningfully to our revenue and earnings in 2013," added Li.

Tianli had provided around $10m in funding to participating farmers and completed the construction of 645 black hog rearing facilities in Enshi Prefecture, by the end of 2012.

Further, the company is aimed at expanding its Black Hogs Program and is expecting to achieve a production capacity of 30,000~50,000 black hogs in 2013, through the initiative.
