Bring Textile Firm Is Incentived by EU Firm Back to Pakistan

Tauseef Enterprises pvt ltd, a leading manufacturer and exporter of knitted garments, is expanding its business in Pakistan in view of the latest trade benefits announced by the EU to Pakistani textile exports.

In a conversation with fibre2fashion, Mr. Asim Majeed, deputy general manager of Tauseef Enterprises, said, “We are shifting our headquarters from Bangladesh to Pakistan.”   “The existing units in Bangladesh will continue its operations there and we are planning to expand our business in Pakistan,” he informs.

Talking about the reason behind the company’s decision to invest in Pakistan, he says, “When we started the business in Bangladesh, we were receiving several trade benefits such as duty-free trade (DFT) and generalized scheme of preferences (GSP).”   “Currently, in Pakistan also we are receiving similar trade benefits and so it is more feasible to do business here in Pakistan than in Bangladesh,” he continues.

He quickly adds, “Moreover, cotton prices were also a concern for the company.”   “Another reason is the difference in languages spoken in Pakistan and Bangladesh. It is difficult to control the business in Bangladesh without understanding the local language,” he says.

Informing about the company’s expansion plans, he says, “We have a percentage of share in Bangladesh and we are looking forward to other countries for more expansion plans, besides Pakistan.”
