Australia-based product development company Smart Lid Systems has signed a distribution agreement with UK-based firm Smart Lid UK to expand its ‘Smart Lid’.
Representatives of the UK-based Smart Lid will introduce the smart packaging to the foodservice industry, over the coming months.
The Smart Lid hot beverage packaging, with the application of heat, offers a visual indication of the contents changing in color from a dark color to a bright red.
The Smart Lid is FDA & EU Direct food-contact compliant. It is manufactured with PS and is Bisphenol A (BPA) Free, CFC Free and carries a Recycle '6' Symbol.
Smart Lid Systems managing director Nick Bayss said with the retail coffee sector being so competitive the Smart Lid is the latest tool to attract customers to any sized coffee brand.
