Wabco, a tier-one supplier to the commercial vehicle industry, has signed a long-term supply agreement with Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA), to supply air disc brakes.
Under the agreement, Wabco will deliver its MAXXUS air disc brake technology for production on DTNA's trucks beginning in July 2012.
Wabco said that the MAXXUS air disc brakes suitable for North America's commercial vehicle industry and would reduce the overall weight of the vehicle resulting in improvement in fuel efficiency as well as improved transport payload.
MAXXUS air disc brakes are based on the company's MAXX22 single-piston technology, which has been adopted by major global manufacturers of commercial trucks and buses.
