The US's Steel Imports in November Has a Increase About by 2% From a Month Ago

According to statistics of the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), the US’s steel imports totaled 2.659 million short tons in November, up by 2% from a month ago.

Among them, 1.988 million short tons were steel products, falling by 6% month on month.

To specify products, the imports of rebar surged by 60%; those of steel sheets and strips increased by 43%; those of cold rolled sheets and coils jumped by 28%, all compared to those in a month ago.

It’s predicted that the US’s steel imports would rise by 18% year on year to 33.80 million short tons in the full 2012, including 26.20 million short tons of steel products, increasing by 20% year on year.
